The Holly was nominated for a national Emmy nomination, one of five films from around the country that will compete for the Outstanding Regional Documentary Emmy. The winners will be decided at the News and Documentary Emmys in New York on June 26.
At a time when corruption and collusion among federal officials is in the spotlight, we are heartened that this powerful story, which dramatically illustrates how corrupt partnerships between City Hall, police, informants and developers are fueling gang violence, continues to get national recognition. This is the 10th major award or nomination for this project, including seven for the film and three for the book, The Holly: Five Bullets, One Gun and the Struggle to Save an American Neighborhood.
